Here is Sarah at the Historical Lyme Village. We started out short Ohio vacation here. Actually we started by meeting Barb at Jolly's rootbeer stand in Tiffin. Then we headed over to visit Grandma. But on the way, we were all pleasantly surprised to see Tony walking home from church. We flagged him down and managed a quick visit. After that we went and visited Grandma. The kids were a bit apprehensive at first, as they usually are, but after a few tears (Justin) they were more comfortable! Justin began by showing Grandma his Crocs and giving her high-fives. Jackson tried to have a conversation from across the room, and Sarah was of course her shy self. I think Grandma was highly entertained. We told her we'd be back on Tuesday or Wednesday to visit with her for a longer time. After our quick visit, we headed to the farm and dropped a few things off at the house including most of the drinks we brought! Goofy us! It was sheer miscommunication. Mom thought I was keeping most and I thought she was keeping most of hers. Oh well, we will find a Kroger tomorrow and pick up some drinks for tomorrow and Tuesday.
Then, we were headed to Historic Lyme Village. This is a collection of historical buildings from the Ohio Firelands. I didn't listen well enough, as I was chasing Justin, to know exactly what they were all from, but it was somewhat like a Conner Prairie, but not nearly as interactive.
There were several buildings, including a school house, church, hardware store, general store, and two homes, one of which was part of the Underground Railroad.
Now we are cozied up in our tents at East Harbor State Park in Ohio off of Lake Erie. I had better stop writing. I have one asleep and Justin is acting a bit restless, so I think shutting the phone off for the evening is a must. Mom and I have enjoyed our first camping trip with the kids! Tomorrow, we aren't roughing it though! It's off to the Great Wolf Lodge!
