We spent the day in Colonial Williamsburg. There are a lot of wonderful old buildings and fun reenactments. The kids enjoyed playing the hoop and stick game in front of the Governor's Palace. There is a LOT of history and a lot of shopping and fun places to eat. We got to see someone making shoes, a place where they make buckets (cooper), and a cool cabinet maker shop. The kids enjoyed asking questions about the different things that were made! Jackson's favorite place was the jail. We even got a picture of Justin in the jail looking through the windows of the jail. It was a very hot day but fun. Justin napped through part of the day and Jon, Jackson, and Justin headed back early to the truck where Jackson also fell asleep.
Last night we ate at a local restaurant in Williamsburg then we came back to the hotel and swam for a bit in the indoor and outdoor pool. Devon, Dan, Dad, Sharon, and all the kids arrived about 9:30 and Jenny, shortly after then we hung in the hallway for a bit and then headed to bed.
Now, we are stuck in traffic on our way to Norfolk for dinner. We are staying at a Holiday Inn in Norfolk tonight. Jenny has reservations for us at a pizza place and then we are heading to a frozen yogurt place for dessert. Should be fun! Tomorrow we will do some touristy things in Norfolk and then its off to Duck and the OBX of NC!
