In June it seems like summer will never end, but my summer is coming to a close. At least my summer break. I did a horrible job blogging on vacation, and I didn't even finish blogging about Girl Scout Camp. Oh well. Now is my attempt to briefly blog about the entire summer. We'll see how this goes.
My summer started out with the Tim McGraw concert with Jenny on May 30th. Fabulous fabulous fabulous. The summer just got better and better. We managed to get to the Indianapolis Zoo and White River Gardens the following Wednesday and also attended our first Indians baseball game. I bought the kids their Knothole Club memberships and then Jenny was also able to take them each to a game. Although, Jackson hasn't been to his game yet. We are going to try to go to a game in a couple of weeks. That part of the summer is still going. Hoping to get to at least two more baseball games.
The next weekend was our garage sale. We had a very successful sale and got rid of a ton of stuff.
We ventured out of the state to our favorite midwest destination of Ohio. This time we visited Devon and the kids in Cincinnati. We went to Kings Island and hung out and played in the pool the next day. Jenny and Chris also went to Kings Island with us. We had a ball hanging out with Devon, Matt, Abby, and Joshua. That is always a summer favorite for my kiddos.
We came home and then Sarah and I headed to Girl Scout Camp at Camp Dellwood. We spent the week with Grace as well. It was a super week. The girls earned 4 badges!
After camp we headed to Columbus, Ohio for Sarah Kuebler's bridal shower. We all piled into the truck and headed east. Mom and the girls joined us but on the way home it was just the girls. Mom's vacation in North Carolina was just beginning.
The very next day Jon and I looked at a house. A few days later we looked again. Then we put our house on the market and began the haggling process for the new house. We got it. July 3rd. Then, July 7th, we got an offer. Our house sold. Today was inspection day and now we are just going to play the waiting game.
The same week our house went on the market, we hit the zoo once again with my college friend Christie Prater Trowbridge. It was great to see her and her two children.
The next week we went and visited our friends the Mervilde's. We were excited to play and visit, but mostly excited to see their new baby! We took them Jockamo pizza for lunch and then we piled into our cars and went to the newest Irvington establishment, Wyliepalooza's Ice Cream Parlor. Yeah!! Mom also joined us! Although it was a very rainy day, it was a lot of fun. We ended up heading to the library too that day.
We enjoyed the Fourth of July at Nannie's and the downtown fireworks.
Then it was off to Myrtle Beach! We left on Tuesday and stayed in Clinton, Tennessee. The next day we drove the rest of the way to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was a marvelous week of fun in the sun! Lots of great beach and pool time and even a night out for the grown-ups.
We got back Wednesday. Today I brought the kids to Monkey Joe's. I registered them for school. Boo hoo! Summer is slowly coming to an end.
We also enjoyed Monsters University at the movie theater, a trip to a westside restaurant, Mug'n'Bun, and a night at the Indianapolis Speedrome.
A summer filled with many wonderful experiences and memories. And although I have to go back to work, there are more adventures yet to come!
