October 15--Resort Time and Magic Kingdom

We woke up on Saturday beat! We had thought we might go to the water park on Saturday during the day, but instead, we opted to play and relax at our resort. Jon had been handed free play passes, by other guests who were leaving, so we had free passes to the giant slide, bungee jumping, putt-putt, the lazy river tubes, and rock climbing. We each took a trip down the Hippo! The largest inflatable slide. That was all we needed. It was huge and a bit much for the kids. Sarah enjoyed bungee jumping and we also grabbed some tubes and floated down the lazy river. We actually did the river twice, once with tubes, once without tubes. After playing, we decided to head up to the room for an afternoon nap. Sarah and Justin both slept, but our Jackson was awake the whole time the other two slept. We ate dinner about 5 and headed out the door to Magic Kingdom for an evening of fun! We started by heading to Adventureland where we rode Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride and Pirate's of the Caribbean. As we rode the carpet ride, Jon ran and got us Fast Passes for Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. So after Adventureland, we headed into Frontierland where we rode these rides! Sarah and I rode Splash Mountain and while we rode, we could see the lights of the electical parade! We could also see the castle as we were sent splashing down the mountain into the Briar Patch. What fun! We headed over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for a roaring roller coaster ride. Then, back to Splash Mountail so Daddy and Jackson could enjoy a ride. Well, much to our chagrin, Jackson hated Splash Mountain and it scarred him for the rest of the trip. He was frightened for the rest of the trip that every ride would be a scary ride with lots of bumps. Someone had handed me fastpasses for the ride as Jon was getting off, so Sarah and I rode one more time and then we headed over to Fantasyland. On the way, we managed to see the fireworks which of course, Disney style, were amazing! After viewing the fireworks, we took the kids to do Dumbo and Cinderella's Golden Carousel. Jackson was petrified of Dumbo, even though it was exactly like the Dino-ride we rode at Animal Kingdom and the Flying Carpet Ride we had also just ridden. After these two rides, we headed back to the parade route and got a great spot to see the parade! It was a fabulous display of lights and some of the characters, once again, got up close and personal with the kids. One came right up to Justin and Justin covered his eyes. Not sure if he was scared, the lights were too bright, or if he was playing peek-a-boo. We then scurried back to fantasyland for a spin on It's a Small World, Snow White, Winnie-the-Pooh, and the Tea Cups! The girl running Winnie-the-Pooh even asked us if we'd like to ride again, because there was no one in line, but we decided we'd done enough! By this time it was very close to midnight and we decided to head home to the hotel. We had a Magical Night at the Magic Kingdom and we'd be back once more on Monday!
