Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument

Well it rained ladt night this morning. We had no real plans so we decided to go to a National Monument we had seen a sign for. Justin has his National Park Passport so he can get stamps.

The kids were so excited to see a National Monument. They almost cried with excitement.

We got to Alibates Flint Quarry National Monument around 12:45. We had scheduled a ranger tour to see the Flint Quarries (Mom, aren't you proud).

We headed out around 1. We climbed up several sets of steps to get to the quarries. These are significant because scientists believe some of the native Americans used flint to creat knives or spears.

Beautiful views in the way up too!
On the way back we had to cut it short. We had to get down before it started storming!!

Texas has mesas!

Beautiful country!!
